POSITION DESCRIPTION Marthaler Chevrolet in Worthington MN currently has an opening for an A level full-time GM technician
OVERVIEW: The Certified GM technician is responsible for performing vehicle repair and maintenance work as assigned in accordance with dealer and factory standards. Technician is expected to perform quality work without direct or continual supervision and be able and willing to work on all work assigned to him/her. The Technician will accomplish all objectives by supporting the values, philosophies and policies of Marthaler Chevrolet.
The Technician is responsible for:
Mechanical repairs to all vehicles, including independent diagnosis and repair of electrical and hydraulic systems, brake repair and replacement, tire repair and/or replacement, and component rebuilding of engines, transmissions, differentials, etc.
Welding and vehicle-washing associated with the above duties
Operating vehicle in accordance with all DOT, OSHA state, and federal requirements
Safety of vehicle and equipment Operating various types of electrical diagnostic equipment, overhead crane, truck hoist, electric and gas welding equipment, etc.
2+ years of GM technical experience or 1+ years of experience combined with an Automotive Degree.
Must have own tools
Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent One-year prior experience as a GM technician GM ASEP certification preferred Strong record of positive Customer Satisfaction results Valid MN driver's license (or ability to obtain) and driving record that meets acceptable standards All applicants must pass pre-employment testing including background checks, MVR, and pre-employment drug testing in order to qualify for employment.
